HandsOn Teamworks! are making a Difference

HandsOn New Orleans is excited about the TeamWorks! program.TeamWorks! is a volunteer-based service program that allows teams to compete to see who can make the greatest community impact over the course of 10 weeks. A point system has been established to award teams points for any service hours they perform and for meeting other service criteria.

TeamWorks! is a great way to meet new people and for new volunteers to get involved in their community. The 2011 Dr. Martin Luther King Week of Service will be the culmination for the competition. At that time, the teams with the most points and the greatest impact will receive a service award group prizes!

For this round of competition, we have six teams of college students who are actively engaged in making a difference! Students from Dillard, Loyola,Tulane, and Xavier Universities have taken on the challenge to make changes in the community. With 6 weeks left to “compete” the teams are excited about their service and we hope that this program will be a catalyst for other students to get and stay involved.
